1. The Concept

The concept of “China Restaurant Week ” is inspired by “New York Restaurant Week”. In 1998, the New York State Division of Tourism was entitled as one of the first launchers of restaurant week to promote local catering industry to the tourists from all around the world. And then this activity was extended to places such as Europe, South America and Singapore. And the targeting consumer group is also expanded to all the foodies from merely tourists.

China Restaurant Week is held in several cities every March & September. This time, this activity will be held in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Suzhou, and Hangzhou at the same time. 

This year, more functions will be employed by the DiningCity APP which is always keeping up with the trend of life service industry to provide more convenient services for users. Also, the Mini-Program on WeChat will be launched soon so that customers will more conveniently manage their reservations. Users could check their bookings through DiningCity or the APP or the Mini-Program. If there are available seats in the restaurants on users’ wish list, a warm reminder will prompt. Hence, users could make reservations in time. The exclusive concept-“Book & Save” is promoted by the APP: a corresponding discount will be given if you enjoy the meal during off-peak hours. This is a win-win strategy for both restaurants and users.  In addition, China Restaurant Week will also be launched in the APP.

As the sponsor of China Restaurant Week for continuous 9 times, one of the world top online guide DiningCity has accumulated a great popularity in China and become the indicator of the dining industry. This activity also attracts the attendance of many famous media such as Whenever and the substantial support of well-known brands including S.Pellegrino.

DiningCity, together with Citibank, will hold the 14thChina Restaurant Week from the 14th March to 24th March. This is the second time they cooperate with each other to establish this grand occasion. Approximately 450 top restaurants are going to attend this activity and an incomparable feast of taste will be presented. 

Restaurant Week is a culinary event that takes place worldwide and is all about fine dining at the best for less. During Restaurant Week you will have the chance to dine at top restaurants for a discounted set menu-price. But mind you, the number of tables is limited. This means you need to make sure to make your reservation in time! 

Pre-booking to enjoy the premium packages of at least 3 dedicated courses from top restaurants with a surprising price from RMB 78 for lunch, and RMB 118 for dinner. Enjoy top-level delicacies with an acceptable price. The official booking website (http://www.restaurantweek.cn) will be initiated at 10 a.m. of March 7th. 3. Booking system

On 7th March 2019, 10am, sharp the real-time booking system will open on www.restaurantweek.cn. Here you can browse the special menus of the participating restaurants and decide which restaurant you want to book. 

IMPORTANT: you unfortunately cannot book by calling the restaurant directly – only bookings made through our booking system are valid. You will receive a confirmation of your booking on the email address and mobile number provided, and all the reservations can be checked in your own DiningCity membership account as well, all you need to do is telling the name to restaurant when you go, then they can find out all the information in the system easily.

4. Awards

We will celebrate the end of Restaurant Week Spring Edition 2019 by handing out several awards and certificates of excellence to outstanding restaurants and host Restaurant Week Winner Edition only for winning restaurants. Both guests and critics are involved in rating the restaurants for these.

6. Organization

Diningcity.cn is an online bilingual guide especially for high-end dining. In 2007, it was established in Singapore which is their first stop in Asia. Later, official website was launched in HK and Mainland China in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Consumers could input the keyword such as price, cuisine and location to search their favorite restaurant in DiningCity.cn. A real-time reservation could be made online. The bilingual contents, the 360°virtual reality image, menu, detailed introduction with pictures and text, and consumer comments will be provided on each individual restaurant page to enable the customers a comprehensive mastery of the restaurant quality. Customers could conveniently select the proper restaurants according to their mood and preferred tastes at any time without going outside. DiniCity now possesses more than 25,000 selected restaurants as their members all around the world. In China, there are over 350 top ones.
